Choi Sai Ho, Brighton is our Playground, 2016 – showing at Ollie Quinn, 39 Gardner Street, Brighton, BN1 1UN.

Brighton Is Our Playground is a moving image work sampling 16 archive films from Screen Archive South East’s collection of SE England, re-editing and layering multiple images and newly composed music by Choi Sai Ho, creating a new work.

The historical films document English life and culture of the early 20th century, as well as the gliding cityscapes, trains and beach life, which reflect British lifestyle at the time, capturing past trends and historic memories.

Brighton Is Our Playground was commissioned by videoclub, Videotage and Royal Pavilion & Museums Trust for Both Sides Now 3 and Experimental Motion (2016).

Thanks to Ollie Quinn for supporting Third Thursdays and being part of the programme.
